For me, photography begins with looking – not with the shutter.

I photograph architecture because it doesn't pretend: a building simply stands there – and the task is to make its idea visible. That takes less in the way of effects than patience, the right light and a careful eye for lines and proportions.

My work is made mostly in and around Munich – commissioned by architecture firms, real-estate companies and private clients, in homes as well as offices and hotels. Alongside that I accompany weddings as a quiet observer, photograph business portraits for teams and the self-employed, and head into the Alps when the mountains have better light than the city.

I work with a tripod, available light and no time pressure – I'd rather make fewer images that last than many you soon forget.
